Wow baby... BOY!

Our little man is here... and early!!! Matthew Talbot Coleman, Jr. -"Tal" was born April 12, 2008 at 5:50 p.m. He was 7 lbs. 6 oz. and 20.5 inches long. He brought with him the sweetest spirit and we are so happy he's come to our family. Big Sis Emma is so in love with him it's funny. She's doing really well with the... "sharing of attention" let's say! Matt and I feel so blessed to be the parents of two beautiful children. What a wonderful blessing our Heavenly Father has given each of us to be touched by such sweet spirits here on earth. We're so happy you are here Tal... Happy Birthday! We love you.

2 weeks and counting...

Well, here I am! Could my feet get any bigger? Actually at times they do!! We are so excited for our little guy to get here. Emma asks me every morning if the baby is coming today!! What a fun big sister she'll be. I found this quote and it kind of sums up motherhood:

"WHILE WE ARE TRYING TO TEACH OUR CHILDREN ALL ABOUT LIFE, OUR CHILDREN TEACH US WHAT LIFE IS ALL ABOUT"

Learning from Emma has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. She has the love and true joy in her eyes that I try so hard to achieve. We love her and we just wish she could stay 3 forever!! Love you, bear!

Opening Day with the Cardinals...sort of!!

Well it finally arrived!! Opening Day at Busch Stadium. We put on our jersey's and were all set for a Cardinal win!
We sat in our seats munching on our hotdogs as the Cardinals went up 5-1!!  Yahoo!!
One problem though... RAIN!! They made it to the bottom of the 3rd inning and out came the tarps. Huge bummer!
They eventually called the game because the rain wasn't letting up, which means since they didn't get to the 6th inning they have to replay the entire game today. Hopefully the Cards and pick up were they left off yesterday. Emma and I will be watching from our warm, dry living room tonight since they are playing late. Matt's going back to the game and can give us all the great details in the morning!
(Yes, I know... how much more puffy can my face get? You think that's bad, you should see my feet!!) ;)

Flooding over!!

I'm sure a lot of you have heard about the flooding here in the Big MO! The Meremac River has been the biggest problem. It runs just barely south of us (our town sits on the bank of the Missouri river) but this is what happens when it rains non-stop for about 48 hours!! Matt gets a little overly crazy about these floods. He loves it really, so we drove around taking these pictures on Saturday.

I44 is what Matt uses to get to work every day. The River got high enough where it was almost closed down.

Here's Matt and Emma! The little red thing in the middle of the water is the top of a cab to a semi!

Happy Easter!!!

Hope you all had a great Easter!

The Easter bunny hopped through our house and left some fun surprises!
Outside was a different story...we started out with snow, then sunshine, then rain, then sunshine, then snow, then blizzard, then sunshine, then rain, then hail, then.... well you get the picture! We experienced just about everything mother nature can do! May our Heavenly Father's blessings be with each of you this time of year!

The Hubby Tag

K- kind of new to this whole tagging business... but I guess I'm "it!!" Here are some fun facts about the guy in my life!!

1. How long have you been together? March 1 was 5 years!!
2. How long did you date? Met the summer of 2002, Engaged December of 2002, Married March of 2003 so a total of about 9 months!
3. How old is he? 27
4. Who eats more? Let me be honest here...Matt by a long shot, even when he's competing with a pregnant wife! You would never know where he puts it all though, right dear!
5. Who said "I love you" first? Matt...that is a moment I'll always remember. The stars were definately shinning brighter that night!!
6. Who is taller? Matt
7. Who is smarter? Seriously... probably Matt. He is constantly reading books and the Wall Street Journal! I call it "newspaper mode"...truely you've never seen anything like it.
8. Who does the laundry? That would be me, although Matt irons his own white shirts. He's kind of got a certain way he likes it and I haven't quite mastered it.
9. Who does the dishes? I think it's safe to say that I do it most of the time. Matt did do them for me 2 mornings ago before he left for work at 6:00 am...thanks babes!
10. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? If you're looking at the bed I sleep on the right side.
11. Who pays the bills? Matt...I did mention he reads the Wall Street Journal, right!
12. Who mows the lawn? Matt all the way...I don't get close to his white shirts or the lawn! That's his domain. He really does makes our yard look sooo good all spring, summer and fall. The "best" looking yard in the whole neighborhood!
13. Who cooks dinner? Me! It's not something I mind doing, most of the time. Matt does take his turn every once in awhile...Papa John's pizza love it when it's his turn!
14. Who is more stubborn? I think Matt is, and I think he would agree with me. He can "win" almost any argument anyone wants to have with him. He can sell you on anything. He was a car salesman...give hime a break! I have to say though, I do have my moments.
15. Who kissed who first? He kissed me first--also another moment I'll never forget...neither will the dogs, right, babes! BUT I held his hand first no matter what he says!
16. Who asked who out? I introduced myself to him first and invited him to come to a party my friends and I were having, so I think I get that one!!!
17. Who proposed? He did!
18. Who is more sensitive? Hands down I get this one no problem...even when my harmones aren't messed up by being pregnant!
20. Who has more siblings? I do: 2 brothers, and 1 sister (who I love more then anything...Hi Linds), 1 brother-in-law, and 1 sister-in-law; Matt has 1 brother
21. Who wears the pants in the relationship? I like to think we both fit pretty well in one great, big pair!
Now I tag Emily, Cammie, Nicole, Traci, Rachael Varady and Lindsey Smith

A trip to Utah

Emma and I just got back from a weeks long trip to Utah! It was great to see everyone, especially my family. My "little" (yeah right, all 6'6'' of him), ok my youngest brother was leaving to serve his mission, so we thought we'd go see him before he left for 2 years! Matt wasn't able to go this time, so he was brave and took care of himself for a week. Good thing his mom's close right!!! No, but we really, really missed him, and are glad to be back here with him.

While in Utah we did some fun things:

Emma helped grandpa feed the horses. Emma would beg him to go to the farm, and grandpa couldn't quite resist her begging!!

Grandpa and the boys found this cool elk antler which Emma thought was too cool. She even got to hear what an elk sounds like...courtesty of grandpa's elk call!! There's good ol' Boots. He's a great dog...I just can't believe his still alive!!!

We made a quilt for our baby brother!! 9 more weeks...whoa baby!!

Played dress up in Corbin's helmet and goggles. Where's the 4-wheeler!
And went sledding and made a "Snow Emma" up the canyon with grandpa, Unlce Lance (my sister's husband) and Lindsay! Thanks Lance...you really are the best! I didn't now how much I actually missed the mountains.
We had a really fun time seeing everyone, aunts, uncles, and cousins! We hope to see you all again soon!

Open wide...

It was always great having my father be a dentist while I was growing up. It's a little bit farther for us now to travel to the dentist :) but he always loves to check out our chompers when we're there. Emma had her first experience...and loved it!! Grandpa's GOOD! Picking a prize out of the treasure chest was pretty fun too!! Thanks dad!

Good Luck Elder Beckstrand!!

My youngest brother Tyrel entered the MTC yesterday and will be serving the lucky people of Billings, Montana!

We had a great time with him during our visit. Emma especially loves uncle Ty Ty. She followed him around and drug him everywhere. They even did their exercises everyday. Gotta keep those muscles, right!! Hands off all you Montana cowgirls!!
One of my mom's friends gave her a plaque with this saying and I think it's perfect:
"A missionary leaves his family of two years so those he teaches can be with their families for Eternity."
I'm so proud of you Ty. Good luck. I love you!!

We love our daddy!!!

Emma and I are the 2 luckiest girls around. Matt always makes us feel so special, and we love him so much. He came home from work on Valentine's day with flowers for both of us. We are so thankful for our daddy, and hope he know just how much he means to "his girls!" We love you Matt!!

Snowy snack!

Emma loves when it snows, and we received our second batch of the wintery stuff last night. So this morning, she was asking for a snack and I kept getting distracted (that never happens to any of you, right!!!), and when I finally remembered that she wanted one, I walked in the kitchen and she was already helping herself...with the snow from off the deck!! You do what you gotta do sometimes, right!! Yum, yum!

Curly or straight?

Emma has the greatest curly hair, but every so often it's fun to see what it looks like straight! People don't recognize her when it's straight. Funny! I don't do it very often, but she thought it would be fun this time!!

North Carolina...

Two weeks ago, Emma and I took a trip with Matt to North Carolina for some business he had there. Being from "small-town-Utah-USA" I like to go and see different places! It was beautiful while we were there.

On one of the days Matt had meetings, Emma and I found this great little park on a lake full of ducks. She had a great time and made some new little friends that let her feed the ducks with them!! So cute!
The three of us really had a fun time, but like always it was nice to be back home!!

Emma's first hair cut...

Yes that's right, she's 31/2 and she got her first hair cut yesterday! She was sooooo excited, because she likes to go with daddy when he gets his hair cut, so now it was her turn to "sit in the spinning chair and spin so they can get the back," as she said!!! She loved feeling like a big girl at the beauty salon where mommy goes!! She sat so still and mommy was so brave too!! Daddy thought she looked so grown up!! It probably looked a little silly having mom and dad standing over the chair the whole time...oh well Emma loved it and it looks so cute!!
