Thank goodness for my toothache!

A couple weeks ago before I was heading to bed I felt a toothache coming on. And having never had one I just thought it was a headache, so I did the the headache ritual: took some Tylenol and went to bed. The next morning after a cold bite into a pear it was very clear that it wasn't a headache...I had a full blown toothache. Lovely! My dentist is 1700 miles away and I wouldn't see him until Christmas! GRRR!

After a lot of phone calls and incredibly shocking information, I discovered that it was cheaper for me to buy a last minute plane ticket, fly out to Utah and have my daddy the dentist fix it then have it done here.

As luck would have it, my siblings had planned a Seven Peaks get together that weekend, so I was going to be a surprise!

So having never done this, me, myself, and I flew to Utah for a quick weekend visit leaving the kids to "party" with Matt. And they did. Why is it that did is always more fun........? Anyway, with the book that my sister-in-law Jasmine recommended and my swim suit in hand I flew across the country for a root canal and a fun day of slipping and sliding with my family!

I NEEDED this trip. Wow. It felt nice to have me time...only me time. I would be lying if I said I didn't keep looking around to help the kids open a snack or making sure they were next to me. It was really strange to not have them there, so I found moms that looked like they needed a break (you know what look I'm talking about...the "This has been the longest day of my life" look...)!! But I feel like a new woman, not just because the incredible pain in my tooth is gone, but also I spent the best "adult time" ever with my family. We Beckstrand's are awesome. We enjoyed ourselves so much, and I loved getting to know both of my brother's wives better (that's the down side of living so far away... I gotta get to know these fine looking ladies)! Reflecting is such a motivating thing too, and I had plenty of it with both of my almost 4 hour flights! Thinking about the good and the bad and realizing what really matters.

Thank goodness for my toothache!!!!

My 2 totally cool bros!

And their totally cool wives...and me!
Most of the Beckstrand bunch. My mom stayed home with my sisters baby, so she is sadly missing from the picture. Also Matt and the kids...sad!
Me and my little sis!
Since Emma couldn't come she gave me only one request: "Take a picture of Henry for me!" Here is his. Mr. Cool himself, Henry! I had to show her who was hanging underneath him too.

One more picture for Emma. Alex wished Emma could have been there too!!!!

"Wow! Yook at yhat HIREWORKS!"

Tal thought the 4th of July was pretty fantastic this year. Thank goodness for 'hireworks,' friends, family, and food...but mostly the fireworks!

Face painted fairies!

Best seats on the drive way!
