YW!

I LOVE my girls!

"Put Your Heart In It!" New Beginnings

T.A.L. spells Tal!

Tal loves to spell his name out loud. He tells everyone!!! He is turning into such a boy these days. Not that he hasn't been a boy...he's just not a little boy anymore.

He falls asleep during time outs now! That's horrible punishment isn't it.

He's "Princess Emma's" soldier and our protector at night! Notice the "piece" he wears to bed!!

He a pretty good duck follower too!

He's a joy!!

Reading Fair-1st grade style

For this years Reading Fair Emma wanted to do the book "Junie B. Jones: and the Mushy Gushy Valentime!" We love Junie B.

Home Show Petting Zoo...

That's what was missing from all the other St. Louis Home Shows...a petting zoo with random animals! Right in the end zone where the St. Louis Rams sometimes score:) there was a very random assortment of animals to pet and feed. Among them was a:

camel:

sheep:

and snake. I missed getting a picture of the Yak...yes a baby yak!!

The snake is where I make my fast exit, but no, not my children. They're touching it, and petting it, and Tal even did one of his famous "shark bites" on the dumb thing. And when he got it's attention Tal went to poke him in the face. . . OK! WE'RE DONE HERE! EVERYBODY OUT! I swear...he is going to test my sanity until the day I die!!

Zoo day!

It was such a perfect day here last week, so I let Emma skip school and we joined our friends at the zoo!! I love the St. Louis Zoo. We had such a fabulous time:)

Following Mr. Tortoise
You know that picture when nobody will look? You've got one right?
Snake bite! (It's fake...but the one at the home show wasn't...)
Hello friend...!
Thirsty?

Train ride!! Obviously Tal's favorite part of the day:) Matt's friend Dave and little guy Josh!

9 years and counting!

Nine years! It doesn't seems like a long time to me, but I guess when I look at all we've done 9 years seems right. We spent a delicious evening at Flemmings! Oh boy...you need to experience a place like Flemmings for a special occasion. Everyone working knew it was our anniversary and when they would pass by our table they could congratulate us! At the end of the night our waitress and others had signed a card and gave us a box of beautiful chocolate truffles! Not only was the experience wonderful and food was to die for. With every bite we kept saying, "Can food taste this good?"

A perfect night with my perfect companion! Love him!

Meet Snow White:

...and our big Valentine!

It took all of the snow we had, but it was worth it!

Daddy Daughter Sweetheart Dance

Every year our town puts on a darling little event for daddy's and their daughters right before Valentine's Day. We unfortunately missed it last year, so Emma has been waiting ALL year for this day to come. Once a month at least she would ask me to remember to sign them up! She wasn't going to let me forget:) The night finally came! They got all dressed up fancy for a night of dinner and dancing.

Every dad gave their daughter a rose. She kept it in her room until the last petal fell!

Emma told Matt that it was the, "best day of her whole life!!"

Laundry boy!

Tal really likes to help me with the laundry...

He was using it as a fishing boat! haha

Snow #1

It's so little, but we have to take what we get!!

Fireman Matt!

For the longest time Matt has wanted to join the volunteer fire department here in Washington. I didn't think it was such a good idea...I didn't really have a good reason, I just didn't want him to do it! Nice huh?! So for his birthday last year I got him an application to become a fire fighter! It's been a long process, but finally he finished and graduated from the classes he had to take!

The guest speaker for the night was Rick Lasky, a fire chief from Texas. He's a well known fireman around the U.S. and in fact, before we left for the graduation ceremony I surprised Matt with Chief Lasky's book...and I didn't even know he was going to be the speaker. Sometimes...I'm that good!!!!

I'm really proud of Matt. While he's been taking his classes he's also been reporting to help on fire calls. I've be so impressed with the professionalism and honor to duty that our fireman have. We've been to a few events and every time I'm impressed with what a wonderful organization we belong to now. I'm finding out that it's not such a bad thing to let him serve our community!

BLUES hockey!

Am I a fan...ummm I don't know if I'd go that far, but do I like to watch them hit each other and fight...YES I very much do...especially LIVE...with my hubby:)

100th day of school

For Emma's 100th day of school, her class decided to dress up like 100 year olds!! She looked so hilarious...and old!!!

Tal Primary and Preschool!!!

I have another Sunbeam!!! Wow:) He is so happy to be a "Beamer" (that's what grandpa and grandma call him)!!!

Aren't you so excited for his teacher...haha

The YMCA here in town started a little preschool program at the beginning of this year! Emma did it when she was little and loved it, so I was hoping Tal would too...ease him into the going to school thing. Emma didn't need to be "eased" she just needed some social time with kids, haha:)

He's got a couple of friends doing it with him and I think he is really starting to like it! Yay!

First day project: Popsicle stick snowflake!

Christmas 2011

Matt's parents are always looking for fun things to do with the kids, and they successfully discovered that the Polar Express runs through Branson during Dec. The kids thought it was great!

Hot chocolate and cookies!

and of course SANTA!!

Emma also had her school Christmas concert. I always loved doing performances at school! They were the best.

For an early Christmas present to Emma, Matt surprised her with tickets to see the broadway production of "Beauty and the Beast" at the Fox Theater. To say she was excited wouldn't even begin to describe it!

We haven't been back to Utah for Christmas since we moved 5 years ago! But we decided that this year would be a good time to do it! It was quite the party with all the aunts and uncles and cousins...oh my!!!! Because of the tons of fun there was a huge lack of picture taking!

Not only does the Polar Express run through MO, but it runs through Utah too!!!!

Temple "freezing" Square!

Santa found us clear in Utah!
Dances of sugar plums dancing in their heads...

We took a ride on a horse drawn wagon with a friend of Grandpa Beckstrand. After Lance got back on the wagon after falling off backwards it turned out to be a really nice time!

And all Emma needed for Christmas was her 2 front teeth:)

We took some family pictures while we were all together. They turned out pretty amazing!! It's kind of great to have a professional photo editing genius for your brother-in-law!!
